Regenerative Medicine

At our Pinnacle Clinics, including the ones in Surrey and London run by Prof Imam and the ArmDoc team, we use the latest in proven medical technologies with the aim of helping our patients gain long-term relief from chronic conditions without the use of complex and invasive surgery if possible.

In our clinics, we specialise in the use of Stem Cell Therapy, Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy and Prolotherapy, as well as other regenerative and innovative techniques to treat a wide variety of conditions. These include back, neck and knee pain, painful and/or damaged joints, tendons and ligaments, problems arising from arthritis and many other long-term conditions and injuries. Our procedures really can tackle the underlying causes of pain and are able to reverse their effects for good.

The philosophy of our clinical team is important as they have been involved with treating patients with chronic pain for many years. We have come to realise that most of the invasive surgical procedures we have delivered over the many years of surgical practice are a ‘holding’ method aimed at either trying to keep people in status quo by providing temporary pain relief or, in fact, can contribute to the longer-term deterioration that is the natural history of the underlying problem. Yet, there are cases with persistent damage that regenerative options might not be successful. In other cases, we now have the potential to stop the underlying problem in its tracks and sometimes can even manage to turn the clock back on a condition with the pioneering regenerative treatments we have available.

Our professional team have wide industry and research experience in the field of regenerative medicine, and we have combined this with a forward-thinking approach to delivering a ‘flexible-care model’ for our clients. Our consultant clinicians always advise with integrity, suggesting only genuine solutions and realistic goals.
All treatments are carried out by fully trained and qualified Surgeons or Physicians, using the highest quality products and technologies available. Under the supervision of our Clinical Director, Prof Mo Imam, a widely experienced Consultant Surgeon, our team aims to deliver the highest levels of care for patients and an experience that cannot be readily recreated anywhere else.

Our orthopaedic and sports injury treatments can be broken down into the following broad areas, although there is some overlap between them.

Joint & Spine Treatments

Regenerative medicine is a safe and non-invasive solution to many common joint conditions affecting our patients, including tendonitis, degenerative arthritis, tennis elbow and many more. We harness the body’s natural ability to self-heal and ensure that this function is instigated and/or accelerated to achieve long-lasting results.
Our specialists would harvest and reinject the patient’s adult stem cells during our treatments. These are found in various body areas, but because of their abundance in fat cells and bone marrow, we extract them from here and use the concentrated stem cells harvested from there to help repair cartilage, tendon, and bone in the patient’s body. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections target growth factors and healing proteins to the problem area, stimulating healing and recovery. This PRP treatment can be used either on its own or combined with other therapies, including stem cell therapies.

Soft tissue injuries

Soft tissue injuries exist when trauma or overuse occurs to muscles, tendons, or ligaments, i.e. those that support the body’s joints to move. Where someone injures or otherwise damages these tissues, the body attempts to try and heal the injury through its repair mechanisms. However, this isn’t always so straightforward, particularly in areas of the body with limited blood flow, such as inside and around joints. In areas with limited blood flow, the growth factors in the blood and/or any stem cells will find it more challenging to travel to and repair the affected area. This lack of the body’s healing function may lead to ongoing pain, weakness and/or pain in or around a joint. Here at the Stem Cell Clinic, we harness the power of regenerative medicine to augment our patient’s natural healing process. The aim is always to enable the damaged tissue to be repaired through the appropriate selection of therapies available.

Pioneering Sports Therapies

In partnership with the Arm doc, our Pinnacle clinics specialise in providing patients with pioneering sports treatments, including stem cell and PRP therapies and new and innovative therapies, including Intravenous Light Therapy. Sportspeople, whether professional or enthusiastic amateurs are susceptible to many trauma-related and overuse injuries. Almost any part of the body can be injured, including the muscles, bones, joints and connective tissues, i.e. tendons and ligaments, but ankles and knees are particularly prone to sports-related injury.

We have a range of treatments available, all aimed at treating the underlying condition, minimising any related pain and discomfort, and enabling a return to fitness as quickly as possible.
