Chertsey FRCS Course
Professor Mohamed Imam, Consultant Upper Limb surgeon and Mr Ziad Harb, Consultant Foot and ankle surgeon serve as the course convenors. This is possibly the oldest FRCS course in the UK. It was originally started by the renowned Alan Graham Apley (1914- 1996), in 1948 and he taught and chaired it for 15 years. The course happens three times a year and is attended by orthopaedic surgeons at the end of their training.
Complex Trauma Course
This course is designed for candidates applying for a trauma & orthopaedics consultant job in the coming year. Led by Prof Imam, the faculty will consist of senior consultants who are involved in complex trauma management and with different national and international educational roles.
FRCS Mentor and Orthopaedic Research UK
Professor Imam is one of the board and faculty of The FRCS Mentor initiative. The FRCS Mentor is a non-profit network of Orthopaedic Surgeons who are enthusiastic about surgical education. We aim to facilitate surgical knowledge exchange by establishing successful mentorship to orthopaedic candidates preparing for their exit FRCS Orth Exams. Ultimately, this would improve patients’ care all over the globe.
